Dawn Lewis Obituary

Mrs. Dawn Lewis, 71, of Fort Plain, NY, passed away on February 22, 2026, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. 


She was born on May 30th, 1954, in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of the late Roy Barber and Claire Topp Barber.


Shr graduated from Leesburg High School.


Dawn was a stay-at-home mom, living most of her life in the local area.


She was baptised into the Mormon faith, and enjoyed reading, watching TV, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. 


She was predeceased by all her siblings and her nephew, David Peters.


Survivors include her daughter Jill Smith; sons Jack Lewis, Jr & his fiancée Miranda Galler; Shawn and his wife Nichole Lewis; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 


All services will take place privately, and at the famlies convience. 


Arrangements are under the direction of Fort Plain Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
