William "Bill" Jones, 78, of Canajoharie, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam.

Bill was born on Sunday, January 26, 1947, in the Town of Canajoharie, the son of Fred and Luella (Putman) Jones. He graduated from Canajoharie High School in 1964. Bill had a good career working for Genex, a bovine breeding company based in Wisconsin, and he served on the village board of Canajoharie for many years. He was a member of the FFA, Farm Bureau, and the Toy Tractor Club. Bill was highly involved in Little League, having served as past President, coached, taken care of the grounds, and served as an umpire. In his spare time, he enjoyed sitting on his porch and waving at cars, watching bowling, and going to Britney's Diner. 

Survivors include his wife, Carol (Sanford) Jones, whom he married on October 21, 2006; his son, Fred (Sarah) Jones; his daughters, Susan Reeve, and Yvonne (John) Miner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Dolores Mang. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Ferne Carron and Betty Brooks.
