Esteban D. "Steve" Gomez Obituary

Mr. Esteban "Steve" Gomez, 50, passed away on October 31, 2025, following a brief battle with Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease.


He was born in Queens, NY, on January 17, 1975, the son of Dario Gomez and Ana Garcia Barner, both of whom predeceased him. 


Steve attended Schoharie High School. 


Most recently, he was the owner and operator of Gabrianna's Express, Palatine Bridge, NY.


In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed talking to people while he worked at the pizzeria.


On August 22, 1998, at  St. John and St. Mark's Lutheran Church, he married Kelli Leneker.


Survivors include his wife, Kelli Gomez; stepfather, Roger Barner; children, Gabriele Gomez, Skylar Mattice, Adriana, and her husband, Brandon Paul; and Julien Gomez; brother Edward Gomez; grandchildren, Carter Paul, Braxton Paul, Elliott Paul, and Lucas Mattice; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.


The family will be holding services at a later date and will be announcing them at that time.


Arrangements are under the care and direction of Houghtaling and Hanley Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
