Mrs. April E. Baker, 66, of Stone Arabia Street, Nelliston, passed away on October 14, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY, following a brief illness. 

April was born on May 5th, 1959, in Little Falls, NY, the daughter of Martin and Marguerite Sweet Smith. 

She attended Ephratah Schools and then graduated from Johnstown High School. She later would obtain her license as a cosmetologist. 

Most recently, she had worked for Richardson Brands in Canajoharie, NY. She also had worked for Ames Department Store, the 5s Diner, Agway, Stewarts, where she met her husband, and also as a beautician out of her home. 

She lived in the local area her entire life and was of the Methodist faith.

April loved being with her family, her cats, cooking, and camping when she was younger.

On January 1, 2002, she married Manley Baker at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Plain, NY.

She was predeceased in death by her husband Richard Mueller, Jr, her father Martin Smith, her sister Kathy Ponte, father-in-law Manley Baker, Sr.

Survivors include her current husband, Manley Baker, of Nelliston, NY; daughter, Erica Neff and her significant other Chris Miller, and her sons Kevin Neff, Jr, and Ashton Neff, of Florida; daughter Ashley and her husband David Ouderkirk, and children, Dax and Evelyn "Evie" of St. Johnsville, NY; daughter Samantha and her husband Toby Starin, and son Theodore "Teddy", of Canajoharie, NY; son Manley Baker III & Brooke O'Neil of Vermont; step daughter Marcia and her husband Craig Shults, daughter Tiffany Shults of Canajoharie, NY; step daughter Ariel and her husband Roger Nichols, son Waylon of Dolgeville, NY; brother Steve Smith, sister Barbara Johnson, and sister  Pauline Spoar and her husband Stanley; mother in law Joann Baker of Ephratah, sister in law Diane and her husband Jason Snell of Ephratah, niece Amanda and her husband Nicholas Merdith and children of Caroga Lake, niece Zoe Reid and signifigant other Alex Nethaway of Johnstown, niece Amy Snell and her husband Keith Burkhart of Ephratah,nephew Cameron Snell of Ephratah, nephew Michael Morse and his signifigant other Amanda Reichenberger and children of Palatine Bridge, NY .

The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date, with the time and date to be announced.
