Garry A. LaValley Obituary
Mr. Garry A. LaValley, 82, of Fort Plain, NY, died August 11, 2025, at his home.
Garry was born on November 11, 1942, in Fort Plain, NY, the son of Eugene and Theresa Lasher LaValley.
Garry was educated in St. Johnsville and Fort Plain Schools until graduation.
For over 30 years, he worked as a welder at General Electric in Schenectady, NY.
Garry lived in the local area his entire life, was of the Christian faith, and was an avid hunter, along with enjoying his enormous garden, and spending time with his brothers and family.
He was predeceased by his sister Caroline, brothers Eugene and Roger, and his granddaughter Stephanie LaValley.
Survivors include his children, Vicky and her husband Joe DePiazza, Lori and her husband Gaylen Fletcher, and Wayne LaValley; grandchildren Shaylene and her husband Greg Somma, Gabrielle DePiazza, Kayla Fletcher, Kiana Fletcher, Kamilynn Fletcher, Kelsey Fletcher, and Kendra Fletcher; great-grandchildren Nova Rae, Holden, and Indy; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following Garry's wishes, there will be no services or visitation; burial will take place privately at Fort Plain Cemetery.
The family has entrusted these arrangements to Fort Plain Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY, 13339.
