Robert Looman Obituary

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, brother, and friend, Robert Daniel Looman, of North Virginia, passed away on July 28th. He was born February 10th, 1945, to Francis and Alta Looman in Herkimer, New York. Bob loved sailing, fishing and had an amazing sense of humor. He was an early purveyor of Dad Jokes. He and his family lived in numerous places throughout the United States before settling in North, Virginia in 2005, acquiring many life-long friends along the way.


Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda, his children, Matthew (Amy), Jason (Tara), and Kristen (Bernard) and his five grandchildren, Alex, Dorothy, Emmett, Liam, and Kristopher, brothers Carl Looman, and Benjamin Looman of Texas, and Paul (Bonnie) Looman of New York, and numerous nieces and nephews.


He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Alta Looman, brothers, David and Floyd Looman, sisters Marie Lasher and Lillian Looman.


Memorial services will be held at the Singleton United Methodist Church, Ware Neck, VA, on Tuesday, August 5th, at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Fort Plain, New York, August 30th at 2:00 pm.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis TN.
