Laverne Casler Obituary
Mr. Laverne Casler, 73, of Barclay Street, Canajoharie, NY, passed away at his home on March 20, 2025.
Laverne was born in Little Falls, NY, on April 25, 1951, the son of the late Gerald C. Casler and Ada M. Shults Casler, who predeceased him.
Laverne was a graduate of Fort Plain High School.
Most recently, he worked as a glass cutter for over 20 years at Pioneer Windows, Johnstown, NY. Before that, he worked as a farmer.
He was a lifetime area resident, of the Lutheran faith, and a member of the South Minden Fire Department and the Canajoharie Volunteer. Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the races, truck pulls, and hunting.
On May 5, 1973, in Canajoharie, N.Y., he married Veronica Anderson.
Laverne was predeceased in death by his brother Bruce Casler, Sister Linda and her husband Craig Stevens, and brother-in-law Vic Nestle.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Veronica Casler; sons Patrick Casler and Jason Casler; brother Varnum and his wife Kelly Casler; sisters Gail and her husband Bob Burkart, and Yuvonne Nestle; granddaughter Sparrow; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will be planning a memorial service at a later date, which will be announced once a date and time are planned.
